In lesson 11.2 we learned about Arithmetic Sequences and Series.

-Objectives-
*Identify Arithmetic series

Vocabulary
*Arithmetic sequence- a sequence in which the difference between consecutive terms is constant.
*Common difference- the difference between consecutive terms in an arithmetic sequence.
*Arithmetic mean- the sum of two numbers divided by 2

*Formulas
Common difference- a2-a1
a3-a4
a4-a3
i.e.= any term minus proceeding term
Arithmetic Sequence formulas:
*Recursive: an=a(n-1)+d
*Explicit: an=a1+(n-1)d

Key: an=nth term
(n-1)= position
d= common diffence

Example 2 page 595:
1100=a1 1135=a2 1170=a3
a2= amount after the first pledge
a76=amount after 75 pledges

d=35 n=76 a1=1100 find a76
a76=1100+(76-1)35
a76=1100+75(35)
a76=3725
